A week later...

It has been a week and I think I took close to 15 tests, but the only one that mattered was today's. It's still positive. I called and made my first doctor's appointment today. They want to wait to see me around 7-8 weeks along, so that means waiting a few more weeks. Lou and I decided to wait and tell our parent's on Father's Day, which is almost a month away. I don't know if I can hold out that long, but I'm going to try for the sake of surprising them. We are going to go to Georgia to tell Big Lou and Johnie, but we have to find airfare first. We have ordered little baby bibs to give to our Dad's that say "Grandpa's Future Fishing Buddy" (for my Dad) and "Grandpa's Golfing Buddy" (for Lou's Dad), and for our Mom's we bought them James Avery Charm bracelets with their first "Nana" charm on it. We also bought books from Barnes and Noble for the grandparents to fill out for the baby detailing life milestones, etc. When I read the book in the store I started crying. Hormones do sneak up on you. I know they will all be as surprised as we were!

WHAT! A Positive result.

Well...Suzanne said to wait a few days and take another test, so naturally I waited a day. When I got home this afternoon I had to pee so I thought it would be a great time to take another test. So I did. This one was positive! Seriously! I sat there on the toilet just looking at the little pee stick in awe. I called Suzanne and she started to laugh. She had a feeling I was pregnant. We haven't even been in the study long enough to do anything. Suzanne said to wait another week and take another test. The study considers me pregnant after 2 positive tests a week apart. She said I can take as many as I want in the meantime, which is exactly is what I'll do! Lou was sort of shocked. We sat there on the couch looking at each other and laughing. We're going to be cautious until we see that second positive test in a week. Suzanne did say that women get pregnant all the time but the embryo doesn't stick, so not to get our hopes up.

First Pregnancy test...

Today was the predetermined day for me to take my first pregnancy test. Negative. Not pregnant. After I took the test I had to call Suzanne to give her an update. I told her that I didn't feel like I was going to start my cycle. Suzanne said that maybe it was too soon to get a positive test so wait a few days and take another test.
